Since I first saw Luke Cage this season has had me very conflicted, while it doesn’t show the quality of what Daredevil and Jessica Jones brought before, Luke Cage is still a good show in its own right but the high points from this season gravitate around the villain Coppermouth (portrayed by Mahershala Ali) and its excellent soundtrack.
Tired of the corruption and crime on the streets of Luke decides enough is enough and will use his powers to clean the streets of Harlem. Perhaps one of the best villains on screen in recent times Wilson Fisk (Portrayed by Vincent D’Onorfio), is a cold and powerful presence in every scene leaving you on the edge of your seat.įirst Released on Netflix: September 30th, 2016Ĭarl Lucas or better known as Luke Cage is a bulletproof man.Ī former cop that was framed for murder, Luke just wants a peaceful life but as it would have its trouble always finds a way to land at his door. With it’s a grittier and more grounded approach to being a vigilante the show stood apart from the rest of its rivals and by the end of the season, it left me wanting more and more. #MARVEL MOVIES IN TIMELINE ORDER SERIES#
Jessica Jones is the next character rumored to appear in a Disney+ series with reports that she could appear in She-Hulk (although this looks less likely now). What we do know is the rights to produce new shows with the characters have begun to return back to Disney with two appearances by Daredevil characters in the MCU (one theatrical and the other a Disney+ series).
Neither company has been particularly upfront with the streaming rights of these shows. With Netflix the exclusive distributor, the shows will likely stay with Netflix for the foreseeable but it’s likely that the shows will eventually head back to Disney either with the licenses lapsing or Disney buying them back. Will The Defenders series ever leave Netflix? Sadly in 2019 all of the Netflix Marvel shows were canceled with Disney now focused on new Marvel content for Disney+ which included 5 shows in 2021 alone. It’s now been seven years since the first season of Daredevil hit Netflix and The Defenders is often considered to be a truly pioneering for both Marvel and Netflix.
